In these 7-week intensive classes, students will learn the basic fundamentals of art. They will begin investigating concepts through drawing in order to fully develop their ideas and designs. The students will execute their learned techniques through materials such as plaster, clay and fiber arts - to name a few - in order to create a cohesive body of work that will focus on shape, color, value, and physical & visual texture.


Saturday Art Club

Saturdays, January 26 - March 10, 2018

The Saturday Art Club is a 7-week program where
children, ages 6-11 will learn about famous artists and movements in art history, then create works of art inspired by them! Media used will include ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. On the last day of Art Club, students will display all of their artwork in a mini reception for family and friends to view.


Gallery Inspiration

Saturdays, 1-3 pm

Ages 9 - 13

This class will take our young artists through the Main Gallery to view our current exhibition. Students will walk through the gallery and begin learning how to analyze and discuss the art work they are most drawn towards. In order to understand the artist process, the students will transition from the gallery to the classroom where they will begin to explore their own artistic journey of creating

Children's Book Club

The Foundry Art Centre Children’s Book Club inspires kids to explore new books and ideas through traditional folk tales, fairy tales, and more! Each club meeting will begin by reading the book of the month. Next, kids will discuss the story, share their opinions, and then create a work of art based on the story. Club size is limited and advance registration is required. An adult is welcome to stay with younger children for the meeting.
