Foundry Art Centre Volunteer Program
If you have an appreciation for art and are looking to serve your community, the Foundry Art Centre may be the right place for you.
Volunteer opportunities available at the Foundry Art Centre:
The Foundry Art Centre has a strong tradition of support from volunteers of all ages. Currently, there are volunteers from all over the community working in nearly every area of the art center, providing services to visitors and assisting the professional staff behind the scenes. It is an ideal way to make new friends while getting to know the inner workings of one of the area’s premier art centers.
These volunteers greet visitors as they enter the building, provide information about the Foundry Art Centre, and assist visitors as they experience the Foundry Art Centre. They also answer the telephone, take messages, and help our guests with their gift shop purchases. These volunteers also help with projects for the operation of the office. These duties include stuffing envelopes, applying mailing labels, and sealing envelopes.
- Visitor Services Assistant
These volunteers assist with special events at the Foundry Art Centre. These duties include on-site membership recruitment, preparation of food for opening receptions, greeting visitors, and providing assistance for special activities. Special Events volunteers also assist our Programming Manager by supervising and aiding children during public events where crafts & activities are made available to children.
These volunteers assist the exhibitions manager on ship-and-receive weekends. Duties include helping pack/unpack artwork, gallery preparation, and minor painting jobs. During opening receptions, Exhibition Assistants may supervise the galleries to ensure the safety of the artwork and our galleries.
