If you have an appreciation for art and are looking to serve your community, the Foundry Art Centre may be the right place for you.

The Foundry Art Centre has a strong tradition of support from volunteers of all ages. Currently, there are volunteers from all over the community working in nearly every area of the art center, providing services to visitors and assisting the professional staff behind the scenes. It is an ideal way to make new friends while getting to know the inner workings of one of the area’s premier art centers.

Volunteer opportunities available at the Foundry:

Garden Club *

Join us two Thursdays a month working to keep our garden beds beautiful and maintained. (See schedule). Bring your own gardening gloves. Tools and lemonade provided.

volunteer coordinator

Duties include managing volunteers, communication with staff, reviewing volunteer applications, overseeing volunteer orientation and background checks, and tracking volunteers (interests & availability).

Visitor Services Assistant *

Duties include greeting visitors as they enter the building, answering the phone and directing calls, conducting gift shop sales, receiving incoming packages and mail, tidying gift shop, providing exceptional customer service, and answering questions.

Special Event AMBASSADOR

Duties include welcoming guests, providing answers for guests, maintaining crowd control, assisting staff with tasks for the special event, handing out promotional material for the FAC, and other duties as assigned.

Exhibitions Assistant/artist ambassador

Duties include providing physical assistance/manual labor in exhibition preparation, assisting Exhibitions team, preparing the galleries, minor painting jobs, ensuring the safety of the artwork and our guests during special events.

special projects ambassador

Duties include any tasks that do not fall under the other volunteer roles, such as assisting in booths or at activity stations at events, helping with preparations for events by decorating, preparing signs, stuffing bags, etc., and providing administrative support.


Duties include assisting our teachers and staff with Summer Camps when they are in session by preparing supplies and helping individual students. Opportunities for volunteering also include Family Fun Day Events, Festivals, and adult educational programming.
