STAINED GLASS

Mandy Cochran is a stained glass artist who calls Edmonton, Alberta, Canada home.

Her interest in stained glass was sparked by a good friend who introduced her to the craft some 20 years ago. It was a creative connection that resonated with her fascination for colored and textured glass. She saved up, purchased equipment and supplies, set up a space in her basement, and began her journey teaching herself the art of stained glass.

In 2007, she immigrated to her husband’s hometown of St. Louis.

For the past five years, Mandy has been teaching stained glass classes to all who come searching for knowledge and skills in the art. Her attraction to all things glass and how light is filtered through has been a source of inspiration; while stained glass is her main focus, she also enjoys other art media such as photography, painting, and furniture refinishing.

A re-connection to Mandy’s Metis First Nations heritage has sparked a rejuvenated interest in the Native Canadian art of her ancestors. She hopes to translate that into new designs reflecting her family’s symbols & history in stained glass form.
